All Time Top 25 Games

  • Half-Life 2#2 in All Time Favorite Games#1Half-Life 2Deadhawk12's opinion: Great game, probably the best game of all time so far. It might not hold up as well against games of today, but just like the classics of yore it revolutionized gameplay, storytelling, graphics, sound design and just game design as a whole. It's so good that after nine years it's still making fans go crazy for a proper sequel.
  • Fallout 3#6 in All Time Favorite Games#2Fallout 3Deadhawk12's opinion: Instant classic, a game with great direction and gameplay, although it might be lacking in the story compartment it's a truly an epic game dripping with atmosphere that makes you drool for more, it never disappoints and it's such a huge and expansive game that to this day you'll uncover something new about the wasteland, whether it be funny, grim, amazing or just amazing.
  • Grand Theft Auto IV#37 in All Time Favorite Games#3Grand Theft Auto IVDeadhawk12's opinion: This game is pure chaos, and pure fun. I don't know why, but I always found myself returning to liberty city to do another activity, replay the story or just blow up a car. Unlike the other top two, this game's story is actually huge and fulfilling, surprising me with how long and expansive it really was, with character paths, moral dilemmas, badass guns, apartments and sweet rides... It's just something to endear. The only issue I can find is that Rockstar pushed the console market heavily, and released a cheap port for the PC years after, even though the PC community is probably why I'm putting it so high up on this list, there is no modding community quite like GTAIV's.
  • Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas#20 in All Time Favorite Games#4Grand Theft Auto: San AndreasDeadhawk12's opinion: Not much to say, honestly. I guess it's just that all he had to do is catch that train, CJ. (sigh) CJ, always being such a buster.
  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim#3 in All Time Favorite Games#5The Elder Scrolls V: SkyrimDeadhawk12's opinion: Skyrim, Skyrim, Skyrim. Where to start? I suppose it's just like my fallout 3 opinion, it's a huge world, dripping with awesome... but... What made me put it down here, under Fallout 3? It's just not as engaging as Fallout 3, which had me gripped 24/7. At some times you'll be hooked all day and all night, but others you just want to play something else. It's a great game, mind you, but I had more fun playing around pretending I was an NPC than actually going through the campaign. Great game, recommend it; read my FO3 review for more insight into the GOOD parts in this game. It's only crime was being so awesome that there's little to talk about.
  • Sleeping Dogs#432 in All Time Favorite Games#6Sleeping DogsDeadhawk12's opinion: Extremely underrated game, and I'm actually surprised by the reaction of some critics, this game is badass, humorous, explosive kung-fu cinema fun! Seriously, this game is great for a new IP, and as a game in general. This is not to be missed, and hopefully a new sequel will come out of it.
  • Far Cry 3#81 in All Time Favorite Games#7Far Cry 3Deadhawk12's opinion: FarCry 3 is a game brimming with amazing views and gameplay. It's a game that has something that other games don't, color. Ain't that enough for you to pick it up? And since I'm extremely bias on the FarCry series, as I've spent the better part of this decade playing predator, I'll stop right now. Geddit.
  • Garry's Mod#120 in All Time Favorite Games#8Garry's ModDeadhawk12's opinion: Kliener farts watermelons out of his butt as he flies away in a bathtub. I'm sorry, but if that's not enough for you, I don't know what is. Also, the multiplayer game modes like PERP and HL2RP make it shine.
  • Red Dead Redemption#12 in All Time Favorite Games#9Red Dead RedemptionDeadhawk12's opinion: It's a good ol' spaghetti western. And if you don't like spaghetti, there's something wrong with you. Now wait a second as I prepare my western typing gloves for my review. (ahem) Now you listen here boy, you better pick up this dang-nabbit game or else you're gettin' mah six shooter goin' into your mouth and outta the back of your skull. You getta ride horses and tie women on train tracks. You can be the bad guy twiddlin' his moustache, or the good guy who comes in right at the end and saves the day. Now lemmie get back to playin' poker and drinkin' whiskey.
  • XCOM: Enemy Unknown#311 in All Time Favorite Games#10XCOM: Enemy UnknownDeadhawk12's opinion: XCOM Enemy Unknown is the revival of a seemingly dead genre, but it pulls it off so well that we're pretty damn sure that the zombie is better than the original dead guy. It will have you hooked from beginning to end, so pick it up. Also: This game is for people who crave a hardcore challenge, you think twice and you're done. Game over here is not like game over in a different game, you lose, and that's it. Also, also: you should pick it up because it's a revival of a genre, and if you want others to follow in it's wake you should probably help out.
  • Mass Effect 2#4 in All Time Favorite Games#11Mass Effect 2Deadhawk12's opinion: It's uh, mass effect. Not sure what to say about this one. - Space - Guns - Socialization (in the good way) - Actual characters you care about - Exploration - Epic story - Alien sexy times.
  • inFAMOUS 2#217 in All Time Favorite Games#12inFAMOUS 2Deadhawk12's opinion: Great game, what prototype should've been. You want to be a superhero? Pick it up.
  • Battlefield 3#88 in All Time Favorite Games#13Battlefield 3Deadhawk12's opinion: Although lots of the game's decisions didn't exactly pan out well for it, the gameplay is fun and the DLC is actually worth your money, not some cheap map pack here and there. And since the CoD flame war shall begin, I must say that I prefer BF3 better than CoD. Large, expansive maps with cool weapons that function well, paired with 32 on 32 battles and probably the best sound design in this generation, I have to give a high spot to BF3. Oh, and also, play it on PC. Those 32 on 32 battles? WORTH IT.
  • Just Cause 2#152 in All Time Favorite Games#14Just Cause 2Deadhawk12's opinion: It has a map quadruple the size of GTAIV, and gives you all the essential tools to destroy. Chaos follows. And that, in short, is why you should pick it up. I'm not even going to touch on anything else, like the awesome locations or parachuting. Just-- Just get it.
  • Team Fortress 2#27 in All Time Favorite Games#15Team Fortress 2Deadhawk12's opinion: I used to play this game before it went F2P so I might be a bit bias. Sorry about that in advance. So the game's gameplay is great, and the teamwork at play is always fun, pair that with goofy characters and a huge roster of customizable items, you got yourself a great game. Except for the reason it's not higher is that it's a whore. A money whore. The game seems like it's slowly been designed to make you buy from the Mann co. store, and it's become more of a hat simulator than a game. But it's free, I guess, but the fact that the Mann Co system was around before the release of F2P and that everything in the store is grossly overpriced does not excuse it. I mean, 10 bucks for a virtual hat versus 5 bucks for a real one.
  • Saints Row: The Third#180 in All Time Favorite Games#16Saints Row: The ThirdDeadhawk12's opinion: Wacky fun. Since there's too much to talk about, I won't. Just geddit.
  • Dishonored#141 in All Time Favorite Games#17DishonoredDeadhawk12's opinion: This is a game that I sometimes forget about, but never delete because I just... That thrill, that thrill of teleporting to a dude and cutting his head off, then stopping time and possessing a dude into his own bullet keeps me coming back every time. In the words of wisdom, 'Dayum son'
  • Chivalry: Medieval Warfare#937 in All Time Favorite Games#18Chivalry: Medieval WarfareDeadhawk12's opinion: It's a game I got fairly recently, but it gets your blood pumping, and... Holy crap are the sound effects horrifying. Chivalry: Medieval Combat sure is combat in the medieval times, with great gameplay and intense fights. I can give you that.
  • Left 4 Dead 2#100 in All Time Favorite Games#19Left 4 Dead 2Deadhawk12's opinion: Left 4 Dead 2 isn't exactly a game you play all the time, but it's still the best co-op game out there, and probably one of the best zombie games out there. And I love me my zombies.
  • Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad#1568 in All Time Favorite Games#20Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stali...Deadhawk12's opinion: A game that never really garnered much attention, that really deserves some, RO2 is a game that perfectly combines Battlefield's huge run and gun gameplay with ARMA's strategic and hardcore parts inside. The result is a game that's really freakin' good, and needs more attention around it. And don't get me wrong, people still seem to play it religiously and you will never not find a match. Trust me more than ever, this is a game that you deserve to be playing right at this moment. Hell, I might go back and re-install it now. Hold on. Awesome.
  • Battlefield: Bad Company 2#121 in All Time Favorite Games#21Battlefield: Bad Company 2Deadhawk12's opinion: Basically BF3, but killing fools is a lot less easy. Probably it's biggest downfall right next to it's downright ridiculously slow leveling system. But, it's still funny, zany, and action-packed, so maybe worth your time. Although I didn't include it on this list, it's expansion pack, Vietnam, is epic. Just... Wow.
  • The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion#15 in All Time Favorite Games#22The Elder Scrolls IV: OblivionDeadhawk12's opinion: The game that made RPG a thing again, and it did good. It did good. Although it doesn't really hold up, and Skyrim is much more worth your time, for me, at least.
  • Saints Row 2#239 in All Time Favorite Games#23Saints Row 2Deadhawk12's opinion: It's zany, action-y, and all around epic! Wait, what? It's really low on my list? Oh that's right, I played the PC version. The shitty, laggy, horrifying nightmare port. This game would overtake SR3 any day, but since Volition made it a mess on the PC, it gets a low spot. Sorry, SR2.
  • Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare#607 in All Time Favorite Games#24Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nigh...Deadhawk12's opinion: Not as good as RDR, but it's got that charm. And you know how I said Left 4 Dead 2 might be one of the best zombie games of all time? I'm still not sure if Undead nightmare gets to take the cake instead, it's awesome is all I'm saying, zombies and spaghetti westerns. I dunno how you could fuck up. And they didn't.
  • Half-Life#33 in All Time Favorite Games#25Half-LifeDeadhawk12's opinion: Great game, doesn't hold up. That's all I'm saying on this touchy subject.
