10Classic!

If you haven't played Thief 2, just do it right now. Do it an experience the best stealth game experience you'll ever have. Garret is a greedy bastard with his eyes on the prize and your cash. He steals from the rich and gives to himself. These are the failings of Thief 4. If you have a PC and 10 bucks, go pick up this game on Steam. It can run on just about any toaster on ultra nowadays.

One of the best games ever. Smart AI that give you lots of feedback. Exciting stealth and stimulus/response engine. Dark brooding story that always peeks you interest. Awesome mod community.

9.5Classic!

The first Thief left me flabbergasted?I was not expecting to fall head over heels for a first-person game with slightly-superior-to-N64 graphics, and yet it quickly became one of my favorite video games. After finishing what I now consider a masterpiece, I didn't think it could be improved that much. Thief II proved me wrong. Not only is The Metal Age a better game in general, but it's easily in my top 10 favorites, and I could see it improving if I go back and try the harder difficulty levels. http://jshgaming.com/blog/?p=133

9.0Fantastic

Thief II left off where Thief: The Dark Project stopped. Gamers still take the role of Garrett the masterthief. This time around the developers decided to focus their attention more on the level design and progress off the story in comparison to the first game. Thief II offers more and larger missions with multiple objectives. Most of the 'monsters' in the first game aren't there anymore and the game focusses more on breaking and entering and sneaking past humans instead of a big adventure in unknown mazes. Just like the first one Thief II got all the ingredients right, most prefer the second one over the first but in my opinion this just boils down to a different matter in taste.

Awesome game - perhaps a little too similar to the original, but equally great.

The bank mission alone makes this one of the best games ever made.
