The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Review written Sunday, June 19th, 2016 at 04:47 pm.

8.5Fantastic

- Classic. It's just classic. That's the only word I can really use to describe the music in this game. Be it for better or worse; these old tunes are still kicking even after all these years, and for a good reason. Also; this game's version of the Main Zelda Theme is by far the best one yet. - Though the music is classic and unforgettable in a nostalgic way...Sadly, I can't say the same for the graphics. Final Fantasy VI, though I don't play that game near as much as this one, has much better graphics than this game does, and they share similar POV styles. - Sometimes, I find myself playing this game every now and again...and once I start, I can't stop. Yes, it's still that addicting.

9.0Fantastic

By refining the formula that the first Zelda game introduced, AlttP created a more polished and better experience. My main issue with the original is that it's so convoluted - you'd never beat it without a guide. How am I supposed to know what to blow up if I have a limited supply of bombs? That's why Metroid is better; it doesn't punish you for doing what you're supposed to do - find secrets. In Zelda, bombing too much makes you run out. This problem is resolved in A Link to the Past because the game makes it clear where the player should bomb, so you never waste anything. It's also faster because of Link's dash - which makes wandering around the map less tedious. A Link to the Past does everything the first entry did, but better.

8.0Great

Terceiro game da série Zelda, A Link to The Past antecede Ocarina of Time que marcou a mudança da série para 3D.

10Classic!

A Link to the past is exactly what this game is to me. So many great memories from my childhood are associated with this game. At the tender age of 10, it was my first role-playing experience and the only one available at the time in the country I live in (Brazil gaming industry having just begun taking it?s very first steps), and as a little kid, I could barely understand individual words in english, let alone decode written discourse. Well, without the text telling me what to do, made me aimlessly wander around Hyrule, making my first playthrough last very long. From the very first moment I started playing this game, I turned into the best student in english class (we have english in public school as second language), and the bits and pie

8.0Great

A Link to the Past sees a return to the top down perspective of the original, and it's much better for it. It's the first game in the series where the story plays out in the game instead of being a page of text in the manual and it helps add charm and character to the experience. Easy to pick up and play, but with plenty of depth to make it satisfying. Nintendo took all the best bits from the first two games and polished them up to make one very good game.

10Classic!

Later Zelda games make A Link to the Past's shortcomings apparent, but for 1991 standards Shigeru Miyamoto created the best most perfect game possible. It redefined games from scored arcade mini-games to narrative driven adventures.

10Classic!

Quite possibly the best combination of Action and RPG genres of games, all in an "open" world. Puzzles to solve, monsters to slay, phat lewts to collect? Yes, it had it all. Even really angry flocks of chickens.

10Classic!

The. Best. Zelda. First time all the classic Zelda game mechanics and tropes came together in one game.
