I'll be talking about the Rebirth remake of the game since I haven't actually played the first one, but it isn't on here so I had to use it as a front to talk about a great game. Rebirth is a wonderful game with gorgeous 16-bit graphics that almost never disappoints to impress me. If I had a nickel for every time I was surprised by something in the game, I'd be pretty damn rich right now. Although I do miss the music from the first game whose soundtrack I bought.

For the $8 for this game and the DLC, you can squeeze SO MANY hourse of gameplay out of this it isnt funny. you to through a series of Legend of Zelda 1 dungeon like floors, and get items that help you on your quest through the game. There really isnt much to say about this game except its like if you took the mind of a religeous child murderer and made it into a video game.

A great indie, very fun and cool artwork. The best thing about it though is the huge variety of upgrades that you can pick up along the road. The game can sometimes be hard and depends on luck a lot.

A rogue-like lite, with very basic gameplay and a cute Flash/hand-drawn style. None of the depth or the replayability of more serious rogue-like games, with all fights ending up in the same gameplay experience, but it's fun and fairly accessible.

It's so much fun with a lot of replay value. Difficult without being too much of a challenge!

Its super unique, and super adictive. Even if you beat it 100% its still fun to get back too. Best soundtrack.

I like this game in spite of myself. I have to admit, I'm not a fan of the game's overly crude art design or its somewhat repetitive design. That said, it's rougelike elements, tight gameplay, awesome power-ups, and catchy soundtrack make it one of my favorites. It's my go-to game when I only have an hour or so of downtime. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming 16-bit remake, which will supposedly address the game's optimization issues. All in all, I highly recommend this game if you have a strong stomach and an appreciation for old-school mechanics and a steep difficulty curve.
