Spyro is so fantastic it's just like an instant classic and if you haven't played this game before, then you haven't lived.

I never really finished this game because I was 6 when I first got it and I just wanted to play around with Spyro the whole time, but I still think it was a pretty awesome game.

One of the most nostalgic games on this list, and for two good reasons: the music and the enemies. The music by Stewart Copeland is so unique and just makes me feel that it wouldn't be Spyro without it. As for the enemies, most of them are larger than you. And granted the earlier stages, the enemies are nothing to sneeze at, but as the game goes on, they become more hostile. Just the fact that they are waiting for you to arrive, and when you do, they come straight at you makes for a lot of childhood memories. And of course the gameplay is solid too; showing the true capabilities of 3D exploration for its time unlike some other mascots. *cough*CrashBandicoot*cough*

This is a game like no other... Of course I am a bit nostalgic about this title, but this is by far my favorite game of all time. This is the first video game I've ever played and still I cannot put it down even after 13-years of playing it. The music, the game-play, the vibrant colors, the simplistic yet effective story hit such a sweet spot for me. Spyro is a very likable character with an attitude that can be compared to sonic the hedgehog only with much more light-hearted feeling. This is the only game I've ever played so much that I've lost track how many times I've beaten it 100%. This is a game I'll go back to and play at least once every 6 months. I cannot enjoy it any more than I already do.

The first ever Spyro game was great. The story felt good and easy enough for a kid to follow, and the gameplay was great and not too hard. Alot better then Spyro 2 which I didnt like at all. Spyro 2 just did way too many things wrong for me to enjoy.

One of my favorite games from childhood. This was an excellent platformer. Though beating the game was easy, the collectables were hidden extremely well, and I would find new things every time I played. The draw distance was extradorinary for a ps1 game, and the world felt full of character.

Wow. I'm speechless right now. I have not played this game in so long and this is one of the first games I ever played. It's pure nostalgia looking at it now. I would recommend this game to anyone who are fans of 3-D platformers. Now, excuse me while I go look through some boxes.
