8.0Great

excellent game. very fun and classic. graphics are all right but the gameplay is really fun. characters has new special moves and fatalities. the only thing bad about this game is the last mission with rayden vs shao khan, it is very very hard to beat.

7.0Good

I do enjoy playing Mortal Kombat from time to time, although single player is insanely difficult, especially fighting Shao Khan, online is fantastic! There is a spectator mode, king of the hill, tag team, plenty of people still play it, connection issues are rare and the Characters are dynamic and unique. Graphics are also very good, and so is the story. Only down sides are that the combat is way to easy, therefore you get spammed so often, and i really hoped to see a single player vs mode, where you can just fight against one computer for practice.

8.5Fantastic

After years of releasing less-than-steller 3-D games that barely make a mark, Mortal Kombat suddenly returns stronger than ever with it returning back to its roots in more ways than one. For those who still get a kick out of fatalities, they are a LOT more gruesome this time around. Not to mention the new X-ray moves, which are similar to Brutalities without the excess amount of bones flying about. The story takes place before and after the events of the games at the same time, and it actually overhauls the story without ruining the experience or the original quite well. I think that if this didn't have the tendency to make fights end with whoever juggles first, this would have been perfect.

next up at number 4 we have Mortal Kombat(2011) or MK9. i have played all 9 main games of the MK franchise. ever since the 1st game i've been hooked on MK. MK9 takes the series back to it's roots and improves on the fighting mechanics to make it my favorite of the series. all characters from the first three are in there, plus my favorite Quan Chi. every character has two unique fatality's, a fatality for every stage, and a babality. the only thing that keeps it from a ten is there bad online which is ok now but still not great. if you want to get into MK or fighting games in general i would highly recommend this.

9.0Fantastic

Is it possible to love a game that you get immensely frustrated at? Apparently yes. Mortal Kombat is the most legitimate fighter in the entire franchise. Every character has something to offer, meaning that you won't want to stick to one character for long. The Arcade mode was actually intriguing and enticed you to play, which is the first time I've been so interested in a single-player campaign in a fighting game since the Subspace Emissary. But the fighting is where everything clicked. While balance is something that can't be achieved in a fighting game, MK9 got as close as the genre has possibly gotten to having no cheap characters. The visuals are excellent and the fatalities are absolutely gorgeous. Easily my favorite in the series.

8.0Great

Mortal Kombat is great. Great smooth frame rate, good fighting mechanics, variety of cool characters, and a lot of extras really make it one of the best fighters of this generation. It's the best Mortal Kombat to date and wont disappoint fans.
