While it isn't bad, I don't think it would be unfair to call Mega Man 2 the worst of the NES Mega Man games. The balancing is absolutely awful with weapons like the Metal Blade destroying everything and the Bubble Lead doing nothing. The level design is really lacking as well. It's so plain and vanilla with no interesting challenges to offer. The only thing I like about the level design is that it often takes advantage of the weapons in the game. Also, the difficulty is all over the place. It's usually absolutely pathetic even on difficulty mode, but it very occasionally spikes up. It really accentuates the problem with games that have a stage select feature - you have to pay careful attention to balancing the levels or it falls apart.

Capcom's first true masterpiece & the one all other Mega Man's are compared to. Catchy fun music, a story that's just getting good/for a Mega Man game anyhow, a "good" Dr. Wily fortress... I'm not a Mega Man fan boy for every game except the underrated Mega Man X4 "which all the X series gets compared to the ORIGINAL X on the Snes". Mega Man 3 "solid" but 2 is a joy to play & the famous intro in my opinion is the single best one on the Nes. Really it's just about perfect. Except the terrible "American Version" of the box art. In 3 you can slide & get help from you're robotic dog sidekick, not in 2. Metal Man's power can make it too easy. It's charm & fun though is Mega Man's finest hour.

Mega man 2 sharpened up the original Mega Man by ditching the points system and focusing more on the game play. With awesome new robot masters, more challenge, and some of the best music from the Mega Man series (cough cough Dr. Wily Stages 1 and 2), Mega Man 2 is one of the best games in the series.

Mega Man 2, one of the first games I ever played on the NES. I can still remember the boss order I would always take. Metal, Bubble, Flash, Wood, Air, Quick, Crash, and Heat. That strategy would always help me beat the game. I would spend hours just trying to beat the difficult mode. Then even more hours just playing the game in general. It's just a fun game to play. Plain and simple fun. You can never go wrong with an 8-bit Mega Man game. The only problem I would have with this game is that to me, it's a little short. But it's still an amazing game.
