Enjoyed it

Continuing my storyline from the first Mass Effect already gave me the connection to the game I needed, but on top of that they had a story line that while lacking the amount of development of the first, had more action and a even more typical Sci-Fi feeling. Despite in my first play through had Garrus die... Still loved it... 9/10

The story may be lacking and level design may be claustrophobic, but it fixes all of the flaws of it's predecessor's promising gameplay and reaches heights that no other game does in character development

Though the overall story is noticeably inferior to Mass Effect's, Mass Effect 2 still holds up on many of the central game-play elements. It, additionally, offers a significant number of technical improvements over its predecessor, making it quite re-playable.

Has a much better storyline than that of Star Wars. Enough said.

Played this game like 5 times. Was obsessed with it, the choices, the characters, the gameplay. Everything worked great.

Yes, it's a great game, but better than the first? No way. Mass Effect 2 doesn't offer the same amount of sheer exploration, it's combat system is remarkably inferior with so much taken away, it's WAY too easy to get both paragon and renegade points and sometimes you get both at one moment, and it's largely mission based, which limits many things in the long run. It's just way too much of a shooter this time around to be the best in the series, with too much RPG stripped away. On the other hand, galaxy travel is smoother (though awkward), you get a more diverse team, the interactive paragon/renegade actions in cut scenes are really cool, and the main story is much longer. Overall, it is certainly great, but it doesn't touch the first

Mass Effect 2 Review written Friday, July 19th, 2013 at 11:12 pm.

Mass Effect 2 is certainly an excellent game. The gameplay is generally smoother than the first game, with improved controls and the tedious inventory management thankfully removed. It has a wide cast of for the most part well-developed, interesting, and likable characters, with the new ones being good themselves and the returning ones being expanded upon well. However, as good as it is, I think that some people take it a bit too seriously. The presence of levity in the script is certainly to the game's credit, but there are times when it just becomes a bit silly. The action sequences can get quite over-the-top, and some of the things Shepard can say and do are unintentionally funny. Great, but not the serious work of art some say it is.

A revolutionary game. The story and characters have such detail put into them, it really shows you how compelling a video game can be.

A blast to play with a sprawling, epic story and believable characters, Mass Effect 2 takes what was great about ME1 and turns it into something truly special.
