Come on who don't love Mario Kart? I loved it on GBA and it was even better on DS. Graphics were on point, tons of extra features, dope new tracks, online play, customization, ds download play, oh and also the game was just really well made. This is the kind of game that never really gets old and that's why it's gotta be number 1

The Grands Prix in this game were hell to beat, but some of the circuits will go down in MarioKart history as some of the best in the series. Both Waluigi Pinball and Airship Fortress were definite hits for me.

This was my personal favorite DS game. Back in the day, I was a beast at this game. I once beat someone on Figure 8 Circuit when I gave them a 25 second head start. I wish I still had the skill to pull off insane snaking combos today. It's not as easy on a 3DS. I also liked the additions to the challenges where you got to fight some of the bosses from Super Mario 64. My only complaint about the challenges is that you couldn't pick your own kart or character. And the staff ghosts provided a great challenge. It took me FOREVER to hunt down all the ghosts and beat them. But when I did, I was on top of the world. I could keep on saying how good this game is, but I would just keep on ending up saying how I enjoyed the game in the past.

u liek 2 go vrum vrum? mah favrite iz walugii. No, but in all seriousness this game is fucking amazing. The maps are one of the best in the franchise. The simplicity that the series is known for shines like a crazy diamond in this installment. The characters are balanced and fair. It was a hard choice between this and Double Dash, and admittedly, Double Dash is better. But, there's something in DS that feels so warm. It's mostly fond memories of playing 8 player matches on the bus and kicking their ass. And playing with my friends when they came over and kicking their ass. And finding kids at summer camp, play Pokemon, I'd lose. And then we'd play Mario Kart DS and I'd kick his ass. Good times, man.

Fun game!

Mario Kart DS Review written Saturday, March 2nd, 2013 at 09:26 pm.

Mario Kart DS features a great character roster and a good selection of race tracks. The races are fun but sometimes it gets as annoying as Mario Kart Wii due to the high amount of items (especially the blue shell). The best part is the mission mode where the player needs to complete certain tasks. This enhances the single player experience nicely. The soundtrack is a bit dull. The controls are good but excessive sliding leads to pain in the fingers (due to constantly having to press the uncomfortable L/R buttons). All in all, if you like the Mario Kart franchise you'll most likely like this installment. Nintendo decided to play safe and did not implement touchscreen controls.

What is already the best racing series around, Mario Kart, perfected its craft with its DS installment. Surprisingly excellent game with great tracks for a handheld game.

One of the better Mario Karts, although I don't care for the power sliding.

Gotta disagree with farmercaster, I've only played this single player and it's fantastic. Being able to select random levels and play infinately adds so much to the game. This was a game I could play while depressed and feel instantly better, it just has such a great sense of perfection. This is a classic of the racing genre.
