Just as good as Half-Life 2

The best game of the Half-Life series. It manages to pack a lot of story and gameplay in it's short 5 hour length. It has the focus the other HL games lack and makes it's progenitor (Half-Life 2) feel clumsy and bloated in comparison.

I hope that it isn't last part of HL series.

As with Episode One, more of the same. But this time, it didn't feel as amazing as Episode One, perhaps the whole formula was getting old? Or simply the ideas ended? Yeah, it added achievements which increased the lenght of it, but it was overshadowed by the amazing Portal it came bundled with.

Half-Life 2: Episode Two Review written Saturday, March 16th, 2013 at 12:47 am.

I really, really loved this. The story and pacing of this episode are very good. The environments are refreshingly different and interesting from previous installments, and the new enemies introduced were both fun to fight and exciting. The variations in gameplay, in both pacing and sequences, made this extra fun. There's some pretty great moments in this one, and some pretty quirky story twists and characters that really pick up all the lost slack from Episode 1. The final segments of the game are challenging and tense. It ends on a cliffhanger too, keeping you pumped for Episode 3...which sadly has not come yet.

Everyone knows about Half-Life 2. It's great. Then Episode 1 came out and expanded the journey. Then Episode 2 came out and hooooooooolllyyyyyyy shit. I've been patiently waiting for Episode 3, or Half-Life 3.

This game is brilliance itself! Never has a shooter been so fun, so involving. It flies along at a rockets pace never clogging the excitement down with cutscenes. it's the sort of game that developers should aspire to rival.

Half-Life 2: Episode Two Review written Wednesday, July 27th, 2011 at 07:39 pm.

I think Episode 2 is the ultimate refinement of HL so far, and the only reason I didn't put it over HL1 in my list is because of mods. It combines the refinement of HL2 with (thanks to a few additions/tweaks) the better enemy variety of HL1. It also has close to the best pacing I've ever seen, with almost every moment perfectly judged to work as part of the whole. My favourite FPS campaign of all time in itself.
