this was one of the first games I brought for the PS3, an instant classic in my eye's and underrated by many, even though this game is fairly linear the game is a very unique fps. not only is this one of the scariest games I've ever played but one of the best, the enemies A.I. is some of the best I've seen they look for cover, try to flank you and don't just stand in the open to get shot, it really makes you think and actually use your resources. Sure there are some moments when it may feel abit repetitive and some sections do feel a little out of place but the story, the scares & jumps, the enemies great A.I. all make this a great package a missed gem in my eyes but well worth playing.

Sick game story wise, with amazing gameplay mechanics. Great multiplayer too. Only drawback is that it got really repetitive after a while, and the sequels were ok but the impact of the original is unmatched.

The gameplay is solid FPS with some added original taste. But what gets me hitched is the spectacularly riveting storyline. It's one that would make you cringe, gasp and have palpitations all week long. It literally haunts my imagination; not in a creepy way, but rather in a surreal gripping noose. I hope everyone can experience the emotional roller coaster ride that is F.E.A.R.

Very scary and polished, with amazing graphics, special effects, and an impressive AI for the time. A lot of memorable scares, but unfortunately the gameplay gets linear and repetitive fairly fast, resulting in a bit of a dragged campaign. The multiplayer wasn't anything special either, but the atmosphere and innovations of the single player still want to make me rate this fairly high.

First shooter to give me the heebie-jeebies. This stuff is TENSE, people. Thing is, throughout the trilogy, you'd come to feel a bit sorry for Alma but in the original, she was one mean, scary *****. I think a lot of people played this one coop and/or multiplayer, too. Myself, I played it alone and I'm not ashamed of admitting that it sometimes made me jump and feel more creeped out than many so-called survival horror games. Other than that, shooting mechanics were pretty visceral and everything felt really tight. I don't think the two other follow-ups would match the brilliance of the original, however (sadly).

A pretty good shooter game.

I always wanted to get into the F.E.A.R. series so I decide dot pick this game up. While I am enjoying it the combat is just very plain and so is the story. It reminds me of most of the movies you see on the Sy-Fy channel.I eventually stopped playing they game and waited about a month to pick it back up again.

One of the best stories ever combined with the best shooter ever. The graphics where alright as well, but F.E.A.R. shined thanks to the perfect enemy AI and, the dark and sickening story and most important the piss-your-pants horror scenes.
