I always enjoyed Devil May Cry 4. As a character Nero was interesting to me, as he's quieter and less in your face than Dante, and his combat suited the game better to me. Ultimately though, it's a sense of familiarity, the ill-considered platform sections and the back-tracking that stopped it being a great game. I liked the art-style and some of the levels, but it doesn't have the sam sense of style as earlier games.

Devil May Cry 4 is a rather stunning game. The combat options with Nero just add a whole new level of gameplay

Spectacular, badass, satisfying, violent yet beatiful and smooth. Perhaps it's not as good as DMC3, but since I played that on the bad PC port, and this game's PC version was great, I gotta give this the higher rating for now. The storyline is the weak point here, but who cares? You get to shoot and slash thousands of demons with great controls and a cool combo and scoring system.

I hope you like backtracking, cause that's half the game! The story takes it's self far too seriously than the other games. The plot, rather than being simplistic and in the background, like when at DMC's best, it's constantly being shoved in your face. From what I understand, Nero, our young bright eyed protagonist, is shocked and appalled that the main villains are using religion to control the populous! Seeing as how that's never happened before, he decides to use violence to solve every problem he comes across and teach them a lesson. Joking aside, the controls are the best of the series and Nero isn't unlikable. If he had been given a sequel to develop further, he might even be as popular as Dante.

I found this game very boring, it adds nothing new to the gameplay department and simply feels like DMC3 with a PS3 facelift.

This isn't the most stand-out game in this series but I still enjoy it none the less. The beat 'em up combat is a complete blast. Not only is there gun play combined with sword play, but devilish powered up moves and the devil bringer ensure all fights are different and a blast.

What a letdown! It wasn't as bad as Devil May Cry 2 but DMC 4 is nowhere close to close DMC 1 or 3. With the jump on the PS3, I was expecting some huge improvements. Anyway the game is dull, kinda boring and it took me forever to finish. I guess I was expecting too much out of this one.
