Chrono Cross Review written Tuesday, June 17th, 2014 at 04:51 am.

I can name many flaws with Chrono Cross, such as the overabundance of characters, awkward pacing, and tangential-at-best connections to its prequel, yet I care about it more than any other game. The sub plots got me thinking about how one person's actions, blessings, and misfortunes can significantly change the world, deeply impacting me, partially for personal reasons. The shore was a huge part of my childhood, so the setting also resonated with me for more reasons than its beauty. The soundtrack is better than in any other game ever made. What some consider a boring/confusing battle system is praised as engaging and strategic by me. It has endless replayability. I bet in some other world I'm worse off for not playing this game...

Chrono Cross is a game really overhated, in my opinion. I know the combat system from Chrono Trigger was changed completely but some thing were original like the 3 different normal attacks and the Field Effect. But most important, Chrono Cross was the only game that touch my heart, it has a boss battle that really made me cry. The story is the best i ever seen, the graphics are mind blow, with the limitations of the Playstation, and it has the best soundtrack ever. If you aren't convinced with my opinion just watch on Youtube the opening.

"B-b-b-b...But it's not as good as Chrono Trigger!" Few things are! Part of growing up means enjoying life as it comes! You ape! Chrono Cross is nothing short of remarkable. ... The battle system is deep, smart and rhythmic. The story is well thought out and unique, all the while referring back to its predecessor, The Greatest Game Of All Time.

This was my first RPG for PSX, and I loved every moment of it. The graphics were great for its time, the music is outstanding, the story is easy to get sucked in to. I love the feel of the battle system. I'm glad I played this before Trigger, I feel that it helped me love Trigger even more and finding out all of those little mysteries I had about Cross made it so much fun. This game will always be a classic for me, and I'll probably continue to replay it every year.

Much like Majora's Mask was a darker, more mature experience than Ocarina of Time, Chrono Cross built on the success of Chrono Trigger with a larger cast, a longer adventure and a more somber feeling. It was an excellent game, but it's soundtrack is where it really shines. More than almost any other game, it really sets the mood perfectly for what is arguably one of the gravest, most funereal games around.

The FMV is breathtaking and some of the music is good, but I didn't really care for the battle system, the in game graphics are horrid, and I didn't care about the story or characters. I just don't see what makes these Chrono games good.

Chrono Cross is a solid RPG in every regard and it features one of the best video game soundtracks of all time.

Bought this game for my PSP recently and upped my total count for playing through this game another two times. A timeless classic. Yeah yeah, Chrono Trigger, yadda yadda, but this one was the first Chrono game I played, and I love it. Still.
